Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

The short version: we do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. On Android, everything stays on your phone.

Purrwiggle is a pet care app made by GetBerq LLC, 1021 E Lincolnway #8055, Cheyenne, WY 82001, USA ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.

1. What stays on your phone

  • Pet photos. If you add a photo, it is stored only on your device. To guess "cat or dog" and pick your pet's cartoon colors, the photo is analyzed on your device: on iPhone with Apple's built-in tools, on Android with Google's ML Kit (through Google Play services). The photo is never uploaded to us or to Google.
  • Lost-pet poster details, including the phone number you type, stay on your device unless you choose to share the poster.
  • Calendar. When you add a vaccine or vet visit to your calendar, your phone's calendar app shows you the event to save. We ask only for permission to add events; we cannot read your calendar.
  • Notifications (meal, vaccine and daily reminders) are scheduled on your device.

2. What we store on our servers

Android app (current version): everything stays on your phone. The Android app does not create an account and does not send your pets or care records to our servers. Household sharing on Android will come in a later update; when it does, this section will apply to Android too and we will tell you in the app.

iPhone app:

So that everyone in your household sees the same information, and so your data survives a new phone, the app keeps a copy of your pet care data on our server. When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous account automatically. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or precise location.

We store:

  • Account: a random account ID and token, the display name you choose (for example "Alex"), your household and its members' display names.
  • Pets: name, species, breed, birth date, meal times, time zone, weight, diet mode and parasite-dose dates.
  • Optional health profile, if you fill it in: size, food type, spayed/neutered, long-term conditions (for example diabetes), foods your pet can't eat or does well with, and a vet diet note.
  • Care records: meals, water, medication and treats; vaccines; vet visits (including the clinic name and notes you type); food purchases; weight; symptoms; mood; poop and litter box logs; walks, play and grooming. Each record includes when it happened and which household member logged it.
  • App information: language and region setting of your device, device platform, app version and when the app last synced.
  • Usage events: simple counts of which features are used (for example "vaccines page opened" or "meal logged"), linked to your anonymous account. They help us decide what to improve. They do not include the text you type.

We use this data only to run the app: to sync your household, to restore your data, to keep the service secure, and to understand which features are useful.

3. Household sharing

If you invite someone with a code or QR, or join someone else's household, everyone in that household can see and edit the pets and care records in it, and sees each member's display name. Only share your code with people you trust. Codes expire after 7 days.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use a small number of service providers only to run the app:

  • Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) hosts our servers and database. Your data is stored in Germany.
  • Apple provides the App Store, notifications and the on-device photo analysis.
  • Google provides Google Play and, on Android, the on-device photo analysis (ML Kit through Google Play services). ML Kit sends Google basic technical data to keep the feature working, such as device model, Android version, app version and performance and error information. It does not send your photo, and Google does not share this data with third parties.

Some features open other services that have their own privacy policies, for example "Buy again" opens Amazon, and sharing a poster uses the app you choose. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

5. Pet health information

Information about your pet's health is used only to make the app's reminders and food checks safer for your pet (for example, flagging sugary foods for a diabetic pet). It is never shared with partners or third parties. Purrwiggle gives general information, not veterinary advice.

6. How long we keep data, and how to delete it

  • You can delete any pet or record in the app at any time.
  • Delete everything: in the app, go to Profile → Delete my account and data. This removes your account and usage events from our server immediately. If you were the last member of your household, the household and all its pets and records are deleted too. Pets stored on your phone stay there until you delete the app.
  • Android: your data is only on your phone. Delete a pet in the app, or uninstall the app (or clear its storage in Android settings) to remove everything.
  • If you stop using the app without deleting your account, we delete inactive accounts and their data after 24 months.
  • Any copies in server backups are removed within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, or the EU/UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and to object to certain uses. You can delete your data yourself in the app, or email us for any other request. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Because accounts are anonymous, we may ask you for your household invite code or the date you started using the app so we can find your data.

8. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to our servers is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to keep only what we need.

9. Children

Purrwiggle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.

11. This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools, and it loads no content from other companies; fonts and images are served from our own server. Like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
